In this episode, we answer two listener questions. One question is about parenting; the other is about what it means that a believer might make another family member holy.

Hello Mark and Scott,
I was raised to believe in salvation by works. I eventually saw how wrong that was. But I still got hung up on a verse my parents often used as a proof text. Maybe you can explain the proper view of this scripture:
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Hi Marshall,
What did they use this as a proof text to prove? Was this in some way a proof text for salvation by works? Is that it? I’ll try to respond if I understand a little more clearly. Thank you.
Scott
Hi guys. On “trusting your feelings” , the word “unction” comes from 1 John 2:20 KJV. And the way it was used at followers drives me nuts! Most people translated it to mean a “feeling from God.” Even if they didn’t say it, that’s what they alluded to. In my mind I was always thinking, “how do you know it’s from God?” This is a huge hurdle for me to get over. Even today when I hear real Christians say “God told me”, I’m almost always thinking “did He?.” It makes me super nervous because of the real damage “I have an unction” has caused in relationships. It’s a really good way to control & manipulate people, just sayin’. Thanks for the podcast! Love hearing your perspective. Super therapeutic!
